Login error in ankidroid (sslexception building httpclient)

Hi,
I have been using anki from about 20 days. I was really liking it but today i faced some issue while syncing my collection from ankidroid to ankiweb. A pop up was continuously being displayed stating "connection timed out. sslexception building httpclient."
I changed the network too but it did not make any difference.
Then i considered deleting the ankidroid app and all the app data from my phone. I reinstalled the app. When i tried logging in, it dislayed the same message.
Please help me! Fix this bug.

We *think* this is because AnkiWeb itself is having issues right
now, which is out of our hands unfortunately (we do not run
AnkiWeb, it is a separate service)
Nothing about the new release should have affected this, and our sync code is unchanged for a couple versions (and thus on more than a million devices) so we are *reasonably* confident this is not the application's fault and we will have to wait a day to see if it resolves
