Hi,

I want to buy a cheap tablet/smartphone dedicated to AnkiDroid so I was
wondering what is the lowest supported Android version?

Hi there!

Current lowest supported version is Android 5 although it was 4 until quite recently (and those builds still exist, so you may feel free to use them, and Android 4.1 can still sync with AnkiWeb even.

But I'm not sure you would want to do that even on a good deal for a used one unless it was free. We are dropping support for about one major version a year historically so within a couple years our minimum will likely be Android 7 if you want to plan in to the future
