I thought that if you are on the main deck picker screen in Anki, and hit the phone's back button, it would close Anki cleanly including the database journal files. But after exiting Anki I still see files like "collection.anki2-wal". Only after rebooting my phone did it go away. Am I missing something?

Also I guess the FAQ changed?  I found some threads about this issue that quote the FAQ, but I don't see anything about this in the current FAQ. Example thread: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/anki-android/collection.anki2-wal/anki-android/Hh7H1ZZzm8Q/LkdF0PCXCowJ

Yeah we don't close the database anymore as we now have APKG export function.
I might change this in 2.4, just need to do a little experimenting.

Ah ok, it wasn't causing problems or anything I was just afraid it *might* cause problems.

Not reading the Changelog + doing some things i knew they were wrong (copying files from not properly closed ankidroid to anki) corrupted my decks today.

At the end i was lucky and could restore all cards (and not the complete review information - but thats no big problem)

I was also relying on this functionality (removing of the -wal file) for my scripting.
