Hey!

Excellent job on the AnkiDroid app. I love it!

One thing that I took for granted though, was support for Latex.

Since these are generated into pictures, it should be no big issue to
load them, no?

Is this planned?

Hi Poyan,

If you have the LaTeX expressions like attached images on your cards,
AnkiDroid should have no problem displaying them.
But, as far as I know, there is no any LaTeX renderer for Android so
it is not possible to generate the picture from the LaTeX expression.

I am glad that you like the app and if you have anything else to ask,
don't hesitate to do it. We are here to help :)

Cheers,

Edu, Anki clients should look at the latex, generate a hash of it, and
see if the associated image exists already. I believe that's what the
OP is asking for.

I have been taking a look at Anki Desktop code and I see what you mean
Damien. Thanks a lot for your guidance!

And Poyan, if what Damien said is what you meant, yes, we will do it
some time.
I have just opened an issue for it and if you would like to be
notified when some improvement is made on this you just have to star
it:

Cheers!

Excellent, thanks for the help. I've starred it!

Just a quick note; it would be nice if AnkiDroid preloaded a few of
the pictures (or all of them),
and not download them when the new card appears. Damien, a similar
feature would be nice for AnkiOnline!

Many times I see myself stuck on a slow GSM network, which makes me
wait 10 seconds between each card.

Cheers!

AnkiOnline preloads cards, but not the media. You're better off with
an offline client if you have media, as it will greatly decrease your
traffic.
