Hi,

One of my decks disappeared (and unfortunately I could not undelete it
on the SD card). Its .media folder is still there. I don't think that
I made a mistake (like deleting the deck from the deck list menu). At
least still have yesterday copy on my computer.
I'm using the current version, along with the widget, on Android 2.1
(Samsung Galaxy Spica).
I don't have much more information, so I guess we certainly won't know
what happened...

Hi Fabien,

Have a look in the AnkiDroid/backup folder, there should be a recent
version of your deck there.

It might be caused by this problem: http://stackoverflow.com/q/7764943

Good luck!

Hi,

Unfortunately I disabled the backups because I thought that it would get
slow from times to times (my two largest decks are 40Mo and 20Mo, so I
expected the copy to make me wait a dozen of seconds). I finally lost
20mn of work (it would have been worse with my other deck: 80mn).
I will re-enable the backups and see how it gets.

ah, that explains everything. That's why the backup routine did not
save before attempting to open (I already though there might be
something still flawed). Thanks for pointing this out!
