I have been using the feature to automatically display questions and also answers. I find it very useful but I have a request, a complaint and a question. I was using it for background listening to sentences as a sort of prelearning for my vocabulary deck.
- can an option be included to preselect the default answer? I need pass or hard rather than fail.
- It crashes all the time. Also the audio sometimes plays in the wrong card. I had question set to six seconds, answer 12. The questions aren't that long (and they play in the question and the answer). Sometimes when i manually choose an answer, it shows me the next question but skips the answer.
- I should make a bug report, but assuming someone wants crash reports too, how many? eg If this usage caused ankidroid to crash 8 times a day, every day, should I just send the first couple of crash reports and leave it at that?

correction: The SENTENCE AUDIO isn't that long (and it plays in the question and the answer).

Hi Rachels,

thanks for participating!

>> can an option be included to preselect the default answer? I need pass or hard rather than fail.
Good idea! Can you open an issue for that here?
https://code.google.com/p/ankidroid/issues/list

Is always the wrong audio played or only sometimes? If it's the
latter, do you have any idea when in occurs?

As for bug reporting: Please send all bugs (if you're using the most
recent version). By that means we can see, how severe an error is.

Cheers!

Norbert

A lot of the time the audio plays correctly. It seems to be mainly if I interrupt the automatic question, answer, question, answer sequence by manually selecting a response eg 'hard', 'easy', that
 - incorrect audio
 - skipping of the answer side of the card
 - crashes
start to occur.
Interrupting the sequence with replay audio, or manually advancing to the answer doesn't seem to cause problems, except that in the latter case the animation and then display of the answer will happen twice - once when I press 'show answer' and then once automatically. You might want to change that, but it doesn't really bother me.

Thanks for the hint! I probably fixed the crashes now.. Please try the
next beta for that point...

One day of testing and it seems very good now, Thanks!
I have another issue 824, that doesn't seem related except in timing and the fact that I got the same system error message... ?

The process of reviewing with automatic question and answer is still not going smoothly for me.

Because the only option for card answer is 'fail', to get cards out of the fail cycle I will sometimes manually select good, or to get rid of them permanently (and to move onto the next template card for that fact), I will use the gesture for suspend. Since starting to suspend more,

- I think I have been having more crashes, not a lot, but the crashes have been, more often, of the type when the whole phone freezes and has to be restarted. It only seems to have happened so far in anki - automatic question and answer.

- Also I have noticed the same doubling of sounds - one sentence interrupting or playing over another - not often - but I think, (a little while) after using suspend in this setting.

- When using the gesture for suspend, sometimes the 'Again' button is highlighted, less often the "Good' button. What is the significance of this?

- When using the gesture for suspend on cards in the failed pile, sometimes they come back a little while later, ie They don't seem to actually be suspended ( sometimes they don't come back).

- I had 'max failed cards' set to 10, started with 4 cards in the filed pile and later noticed 11 in the failed pile. I'm not sure why.

The deck I use in this way is large, so loading it into the card broswer and checking whether cards are suspended is not practical. I tested on a small deck and things seemed to work but since the problems are intermittent I wasn't very reassured.

Also with this large deck in automatic question and answer mode, sometimes the program keeps jumping back to the study options screen. This can happen repeatedly, say every second third or fourth card, and make Anki practically unusable, then at times not happen at all. It seems to happen less after I have been using the deck a while. I happens also, but fairly infrequently, and not repeatedly, with other decks.

Starting up Anki, I lately get the message 'finishing previous operation' and have to wait a while. What does this mean? With this particular deck, it can be a very long wait.

Hi,

I also encounter some minor quirks while using the feature. Here's how
it occurs on my O1

1. Select several cards and tag them.
2. Choose Cram.
3. Review all these cards two or more times with Soon button.
4. Tap undo after that (tap "Bottom" is enabled for Undo).
5 A bunch of unwanted cards would normally jump in the queue
immediately thereafter.

All in all, it is a killer feature and I really love it. ^^

Please, consider my humble requests for its further enhancement:
-Add Pause tap.
-Separate the automatic display of questions and answers.
-Display countdown timer.

Cheers.

I am also getting this "finishing previous operation. Please wait..."
message that takes an extremely long time. Does anyone know what is
causing this and how I can prevent it from happening?
