The process of reviewing with automatic question and answer is still not going smoothly for me.
Because the only option for card answer is 'fail', to get cards out of the fail cycle I will sometimes manually select good, or to get rid of them permanently (and to move onto the next template card for that fact), I will use the gesture for suspend. Since starting to suspend more,
- I think I have been having more crashes, not a lot, but the crashes have been, more often, of the type when the whole phone freezes and has to be restarted. It only seems to have happened so far in anki - automatic question and answer.
- Also I have noticed the same doubling of sounds - one sentence interrupting or playing over another - not often - but I think, (a little while) after using suspend in this setting.
- When using the gesture for suspend, sometimes the 'Again' button is highlighted, less often the "Good' button. What is the significance of this?
- When using the gesture for suspend on cards in the failed pile, sometimes they come back a little while later, ie They don't seem to actually be suspended ( sometimes they don't come back).
- I had 'max failed cards' set to 10, started with 4 cards in the filed pile and later noticed 11 in the failed pile. I'm not sure why.
The deck I use in this way is large, so loading it into the card broswer and checking whether cards are suspended is not practical. I tested on a small deck and things seemed to work but since the problems are intermittent I wasn't very reassured.
Also with this large deck in automatic question and answer mode, sometimes the program keeps jumping back to the study options screen. This can happen repeatedly, say every second third or fourth card, and make Anki practically unusable, then at times not happen at all. It seems to happen less after I have been using the deck a while. I happens also, but fairly infrequently, and not repeatedly, with other decks.
Starting up Anki, I lately get the message 'finishing previous operation' and have to wait a while. What does this mean? With this particular deck, it can be a very long wait.
