Hi all,

as you may have noticed, the actual release of AnkiDroid 2.0 is finally nearing. So we are very thankful for every testing and every report to polish out last bugs.

One of the most important things to be tested is the workflow of upgrading from Anki 1.x to Anki 2.0. It should be as self explaining as it could be and as automated as it could be.
So everybody, who is familiar with moving and copying files in Android, please test this by moving your actual collection to another place and put only some old anki 1.x decks in the AnkiDroid directory and start AnkiDroid 2.0 (maybe clear preferences first in Android's app center). Take care that you save your actual collection properly in order to being able to put it back in place later.

I'm glad for reports and improvement suggestions...

Cheers!

Norbert

I just tried this several times with six very large and complicated
Anki 1 decks on a rooted Nook Simpletouch Glowlight (Android 2.1).
Ankidroid 2 pulls the decks from Ankidroid 1, sends them off to
Ankiweb for conversion, then uses them in Ankidroid 2. So long as the
connection holds (only fell during one test out of five) then it works
perfectly for me!

Thanks.

You can try the beta 22. It works perfectly fine for me. You don't have to wait till the final release to use it with Anki 2.0

I ran into problems with the conversion. It looks like when it zips up the decks, it uses the internal memory instead of the sd card, and it runs out of space. I get an "error when uploading" error message. In LogCat, there is a java.io.IOException: No space left on device.

Taking a closer look, it doesn't start consuming internal memory until it gets up to the uploading part. I don't suppose it copies the zip to internal memory before it uploads?

I had 26MB of internal memory free on my phone, by the way.

Did you have enough space in the sd-card?

Could you share the card somehow if it is not personal?

Hi - First thanks a lot for developing AnkiDroid. I tested Anki 2 Beta 22. I have two decks from Anki 1. One was converted properly. But there were problems with the second decks I could reproduce a second time. I must say that I made the second deck out of the first deck in Anki 1. But in the meantime I made quite some changes to the second deck.

When I go to the card browser of that second deck in Anki 2 it says "87 of 2127 cards shown". The original deck in Anki 1 had 2147 cards. There are 20 card less than in Anki 1. I wouldn't mind about this. The bigger problem is that only 87 are shown. In the overview of that deck it says "Total cards: 87". This means that over 2000 cards are somehow hidden or lost. Is there something I can do in order to fix this?

Thanks,
Béat
