You need to use the desktop client to export decks. Go to File -> Export and choose the deck you want to export. You can export media along with the deck, and they'll all be stored in the same file.
Your students will then have to import the resultant .apkg file. Desktop Anki has an Import menu item, and you just point to the file. On AnkiDroid, you place the .apkg file in the AnkiDroid directory and then use the "Import cards" option in AnkiDroid.

How do I share a deck on Anki 2 with my students?
With the old Anki 1, I merely shared the .anki and .media files/folders and they were able to use them.
