Hi
Okay, so the problem is that sometimes after I've seen the answered to a card I want to try pronouncing it a few times more. The pronunciation I use mostly for exposure at the moment, so it's on the front/question side of the card and plays every time a new card is shown. However, the play button disappears!

I was going to make a bug report, but I'm not so sure it's a bug. It could be a setting I missed; because when I changed from {{FrontSide}} to {{QuestionFieldName}} in my back side template the sound did play again! Only then it would autoplay two times, once when showing the card without answer and once with answer. I only want the play button to stay where it is so I can replay it again if I want to.

In short:
1. I want the play button on the "back" of my cards (when both Q and A is shown).
2. I do not want it to autoplay the sound when my card is shown.
3. At the moment, I do have audio autoplaying on front of the cards and if I want to play it again there's a play button.
4. At the moment, when showing the back of the cards (with both Q and A) the play button disappears.
5. If I change from {{FrontCard}} to {{QuestionFieldName}} wish (1) is fulfilled but not (2). (play button does show, but the sound autoplays)

Is there a setting for this which I've missed or is it a bug?

Looks like there's a bug here. As you said, if the front card has an audio field and we put {{FrontCard}} on the back template, the play button doesn't appear on the answer side when shown. Autoplay still works as expected. I'll submit a ticket for that soon.

You can still achieve the behaviour you want though. Do this on the desktop client:

In your templates, put the sound field on both sides of the card (e.g., [sound:{{MyField}}]). Go back to the deck summary screen, click the Options button at the bottom, go to the General tab, and untick Automatically play audio. This should give you what you want on AnkiDroid.
