For several weeks now, when I open or return to Ankidroid I get a message saying "Ankidroid has encountered a problem; a report is being sent to the developers..."  But apart from this message, I am not aware of any problem with Ankidroid.

I am running AnkiDroid 2.15.6 on a Samsung Galaxy Tab A (8.0", 2019).

Hi there! Could you perhaps try one of the newer alpha versions to see if the issue still happens? You can install a parallel (.A) release side by side with your current install (though only running one at a time...) to see if it's fixed?

If not, then we'd love to see the crash UUID as that anonymous ID is the only way to query for a crash dump, and that's what let's us zero in on the issue and fix it.

Cheers!

Thanks for your response.  As I said before, there is no actual "crash" of AnkiDroid: it seems to behave completely normally apart from throwing an error message at me.  But here is the latest Debug Info:

Hmmm - no reports under that installation ID. Do you have crash reporting enabled in settings (advanced settings, I think)?

Did you try a parallel install of the latest alpha? I understand it's not the most urgent thing since it appears to work correctly afterwards, but that's a bit worrisome to me, it shouldn't be doing any sort of crash/work dance, it should be work/work/work/etc ;-)

I always shut my tablet down at night.  When I switched it on this morning, I got the "AnkiDroid has encountered a problem" message before I had even launched AnkiDroid.  This makes no sense to me!

Since then, as requested, I have also installed AnkiDroid 2.16alpha52.  This too produced the error message immediately it was launched but, like the standard version, it seems to work perfectly normally in every other respect.

I hope you can deduce something from all this strange behaviour!

Today I had an alert on my tablet, saying that there was a battery issue.  When I went into "Device Care" to investigate, it said "Battery issue detected - AnkiDroid - Frequent crashes" and offered me the opportunity to put the app to sleep.

Needless to say, I have not put AnkiDroid to sleep because I use it a lot.  And as I reported previously, the app seems to behave impeccably apart from somehow causing "AnkiDroid has encountered a problem" messages, and now this latest warning!
