Dear all,
I have bought a new mobile phone and installed the latest version of Ankidroid. When performing the very first sync (in order to download everything including media into Ankidroid) I came accross an issue of extremely slow download of media files. Media files are downloaded by 25 files, then there is like a pause for 15-30 seconds, and another bulk of 25 files is downloaded.
My internet speed on my smartphone (which is using wifi connection) clocked up internet speed test at 184Mbps.
I remember downloading entire collection on an older phone (back in a day, maybe years ago I really do not remember exactly when), and it was really fast, even though my media collection was already big.
I am facing an issue of downloading over 61000 media files. I was thinking about using a work-around - copying it via USB cable from PC. When trying to hard-copy media files by USB cable from Windows PC to Android Ankidroid media folder, it is even slower, so obviously this is not a solution to me. I even checked the option of transferring files after plugging in the USB cable (I know this is not an issue of Ankidroid, but has more to do with file format system or something - at least so I have read).
However, after browsing the smartphone via PC, I found out, that there is already 40209 media files (so I am missing about 20 000 files). But it took over two days to download media files by parts to get to 40K, so if I want to get the rest, I need to sacrifice another day. :D I also noticed that if my screen turns off, the sync will be terminated (but the downloaded files seem to stay), so one needs to keep screen on. Is there any feasible workaround to download it quickly? I read somewhere to delete everything, but I am scared to do that since I already have downloaded painfully :D 2/3 of the collection.
I mean it is not an issue if you sync media regularly and you have only couple of new media files. But it is rather demanding if you need to download everything.
One more thing - I also come across some error message during my syncs, please find attached file.
