Hi guys,

I use three note types in my decks: English, Spanish and Italian. I need to find duplicate words only in spanish but when I try to do it, the software shows me duplicates across the three note types. It doesn't make sense at all, cause I've to learn what "carne" means in both spanish and italian for example. I thought using different note types was enough to separate words in all tasks performed in Anki.

You're correct that duplicate detection (changing to red color when entering duplicate note) doesn't occur across different note types, so maybe there's some other issue, like actual duplicates...? Duplicate checking only works across the first field in the note btw

Well, I'm trying to find duplicate words clicking on browser>file>find duplicates. Then a window pops up and I select "front" in look in field. Then I click on search and the result shows me 211 duplicates found in all note types. That's the problem. I need to find duplicates only in Spanish note type.

All right. I figured it out. In the window that pops up when you click on "find duplicates", just set the specific note type you wanna search in, typing on optional limit field, "mid:number of the note type". That's all.

Thanks.
