Hi there,

My anki desktop is syncing fine but ankidroid (version 2.3.2) won't sync on either my phone or tablet. It tries and then comes up with:
Sync Error
Connection timed out. Either your internet connection is experiencing problems, or you have a very large file in your media folder.

My desktop is using the same internet connection, so it can't be that. I have added a lot of new media to my decks over the last few weeks - mainly images copied and pasted from google - so this could be the problem.

I've tried deleting unused media and even deleting a bunch of media (in anki-desktop) from old cards, but this hasn't fixed it.

I added a bunch of new cards on my tablet the other day and if I can't sync them then I guess I'll have to re-add them manually on my desktop...

Please help me!

You can check whether or not it's media by unchecking "fetch media on sync" in AnkiDroid preferences

Ok so it's not the media. I guess something has corrupted? What should I do?

Are you still having synchronization problems?

You may try "check database" and "check media" option and delete unused media files. They are available by pressing physical menu key on android devices. I have no idea about iOS devices though.

The firewall would probably be a good place to start...
You should try syncing over the cellular network once to confirm whether or not it is actually a wifi problem though.
