For whatever reason, every day about 100-150 of my cards are moved to the Default deck. Some of my decks are rearranged too.

I use Anki on two separate computers, and on Ankidroid. The problem started happening when I updated one of my computers to the recent Anki.

Any idea what could cause this? Couldn't find anything in the manual.

It sounds like a serious problem and it would be helpful if we can reproduce it. Cards are automatically moved to the default deck when their parent decks no longer exist. If I had to guess, it would be something to do with filtered decks not returning cards correctly. Does your workflow typically use (and empty/rebuild) filtered decks?

If it happens reliably every day, would you be able to send me a copy of your collection so I can try to reproduce it myself?

Running "check collection" may fix the problem; it's worth a try anyway.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. Yes, I do use filtered decks, and I do empty and rebuild them every day. However, for some reason I haven't been able to reproduce the problem recently. I'm not sure what happened, but after 1 day I stopped moving cards back out of the Default deck and the problem no longer occurs.

Unfortunately, my deck is over 100MB so I would not be able to send it.

Best,
Jesse

If you export the collection it will be much smaller since it will be compressed.

Anyway, let us know if it happens again and try to recall what steps might have led up to it if it does.
