Practice Listening and Spelling

Hello There,

I simply want this scenario. Adding some words in front side but want Anki to not show them but just play the audio for me and I type in answer in the box provided. Unfortunately I found nothing about this. How can I ask Anki to not show the question (front side) and just play the audio. This feature is so useful in learning a language and strengthen listening and spelling at the same time. Is it possible at all? Anki can do this or not?

Hi there!

You will want to learn how to manipulate your card "templates" - that's the section of the manual, or keyword for any online videos to learn about.

you will want to modify the template for the back of your card to *not* include the front as text, but to either include audio or include text to speech for the front, and then you will want to add a "type answer" or "type in answer" entry for the front

This should be possible but from the perspective of most text-only or text+audio cards this is considered "advanced formatting" so take the time to learn it to avoid frustration, and since it is not AnkiDroid specific (except maybe the text to speech) you may want to also ask on https://forums.ankiweb.net
