Why new card are always added to deck "default"?

I tried in AnkiDroid, adding a note and choose deck to another one, but after creation the new card is still set to deck "default".

Also tried in Anki desktop, and both preference "When adding, default to current deck" and "Change deck depending on note type", still not able to choose deck when creating a new card/note.

Is there anything I can do? Thanks!

Do you actually have any other decks? You need to create decks first before you can select them when adding notes.

If you have other decks yet the cards are added to default, you probably need to run "check database" from the deck list screen.

Yes, I have many decks. But no matter what deck I choose, the deck of new notes are always set to the default deck.

I wonder if there is any setting I made for the default deck, which makes it take over all new notes, but can't find it.

Had tried "check database" but still the same.

Also confirmed that current deck is not "default" (by selecting "Current Deck" in Browser).

You mentioned that the issue occurs on anki desktop as well... Could you please create an issue on their issue tracker?
