Howdy,

I installed 0.4 today, and now after reviewing a deck I get the
message "Congratulations! You have finished for now. Please come back
tomorrow or switch to another deck. Shared decks can be downloaded
using the Anki software."

Is it possible to keep reviewing my cards? I have tried setting the
New Cards / Day option to 9999, Session Time and Question limit to 0
(unlimited), but it still gives me that message. While I do appreciate
the new features in 0.4 my main focus now is to not be capped per day
in the amount of time I can keep reviewing my cards.

Oh yea... The option "Review Early" would be awsome.

Howdy Andy,

How many cards do you have that you have never reviewed yet?
Does this happen when you have finished reviewing everything, or before?

What is the current setting of your "new cards spacing" option?
If it is "after reviews", then you might have found the same bug as me, see:
http://code.google.com/p/ankidroid/issues/detail?id=69
Is it the same problem as you?
Does the workaround I suggested work for you?

Thanks for your feedback, it will help us spot and fix the problem :-)
Cheers,
Nicolas

I see what you mean now.
"new cards spacing" is set to "Spread out through reviews".

It passed more than 20 minutes on my review, than it said "Congratulations (...)" , then by now means I can open this deck again. On "Swich to another deck" screen says this deck still have 8 of 551 due (0 new today).

I have another deck, so I setted "Session Time Limit" to 0, which I believed would turn off session limit, but for my surprise after 1 card, comes "Congratulations (...)". And again can't open by killing and opening again anki, when I open, is always the same "Congratulations (...)" message.

Correction:"Session Time Limit" was setted to 1441, and "Session Question Limit" was setted to 0.

Hi Nicolas

Firstly I just wanted to say thanks for the great work you have done
on this piece of software. I am new to Anki/SR (& flash cards in
general), so you are going to have to bear with me.

To answer your question: right now, with the country-capitals deck, it
says "1 of 27 due" and "20 new today". However when I select it, i get
the "Congratulations!" message. Settings are:

New Cards/Day: 500
Session Time Limit: 0
Session Question Limit: 0
New Cards Order: Random
New Card Spacing: Before Reviews
Review Cards Order: Random

Just on a whim I deleted all the decks and ran anki so it recreated
the country deck (Now it has 34 cards). I set the above settings to
200 / 0 / 0 / OrderAdded / BeforeReviews / LargestInterval,
respectively.

After selecting 'easy' 34 times it gives me the congratulations
message.

I'm still coming to grasps with the concept of new cards vs review
cards, but I think my desire at this stage is to be able to keep
reviewing these cards even though they are reviewed, if this is
possible.

To clarify, Nicolas, they're asking for the 'review early'
functionality, rather than the standard review options. It should not
be necessary and it could be argued that time spent cramming the same
material over and over is better spent doing something else, but some
people really prefer to study the same material more than once.

Well, I did some test, and is possible to review early by changing the date/time on the phone settings.
If you put the date on the future, you review early.
I know, it's a lame solution, but is helping me, while a "real" solution doesn't come out.

Another thing that I realized is that sometimes, the app shows that I still got cards to review, but in fact there are none.

When I copy to the computer, in the summary screen, at first it shows that there are X card to review, but when I open to review, it says "Congratulations...". Then, if I go in "Review Early", and close the Deck right away the counting of cards to review is updated and set correctly (no cards to review today).

As Anki becomes your main study tool review early becomes a very
useful feature and I think even more so on a mobile version. For
example if I am reviewing at home and finish up my reviews I can
switch to something else. But if I am on a train, apart from my
phone, I am unlikely to have many alternatives.

Also, when you know you are going to have very little time to review
for the rest of the day it really helps to get a little bit in front
so you don’t come back to a whole pile of reviews.

I agree review early should probably not be used as a matter of course
and is not the most efficient way to study but if it is not too
difficult to implement it is a great feature. Certainly on the
desktop version I find myself using “review early” and “learn more”
whenever I am stuck for something to do.
