"Please edit this note and add some cloze deletions." My cards contain cloze deletions! AnkiDroid problem ONLY

I'm working with this deck: https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/1452969327

...which is mostly composed of cloze deletion cards. Everything works fine on Anki desktop--both of my machines--but on AnkiDroid I started getting the "Please edit this note and add some cloze deletions." on almost every cloze card. This began a few days ago. Fearing I changed a card type setting, I created a new profile in Anki desktop, redownloaded the Brosencephalon deck, and made sure the code matches exactly. A screenshot of my card type setting is attached. I also reinstalled AnkiDroid and redownloaded the collection.

Any ideas on how I might troubleshoot this further?

Can you check that the card template in AnkiDroid matches the one in Anki Desktop?

You can do this using the latest alpha version, going to edit note, and then pressing the cards button at the bottom

I have the same problem ankidroid really sucks you can't even review the cards you made? I made 100 cards the first 20-30 worked well then it started asking me for "cloze deletion" I don't even know what that is and when I flip the card on the other side is the back but on the front just this nonsense about "cloze deletion"

Are you using the "basic" note type when adding cards? If not, use it. 

If you are already using "basic", then somehow your "basic" template has become changed. In this can you'll need to edit the card template with Anki Desktop. See the manual for help with that.
