Hmm - that's odd, given the assertion that the media works on AnkiWeb and you verified the media exists. All I can think of is perhaps the newest alphas have fixed this (somehow) and may be worth a try: https://github.com/ankidroid/Anki-Android/releases - but that's admittedly pretty vague given your troubleshooting steps taken already
If that doesn't fix it then unfortunately I'm not sure what more to do other than actually inspect detailed debugging logs from an installation running on the device and that's not feasible for anyone other than the device owner (that is, you) and requires some programming setup to run it. Not something I'd normally recommend, it's a large time investment on a user's part
