Fiddled a bit more and now Ankiweb won't even sync from desktop Anki :/

Hi guys. I read all the manuals and looked around here but couldn't find any answers to my problem.

I upgraded my desktop Anki without any problems. I synced my decks to AnkiWeb and everything works fine between the two. Then I downloaded the new version of AnkiDroid, followed the instructions and clicked sync instead of upgrade (since I could see my decks on the new AnkiWeb) but my decks didn't get downloaded to my phone. I can only see 'Default' and 'mydeck' but none of my stuff. I'm logged in with the correct username and password (same in desktop version, ankiweb and ankidroid), tried clicking the sync arrows icon in Ankidroid and it does seem to sync, but my decks don't appear. Tried reinstalling Ankidroid but it didn't help. Does anyone have an idea what else I could try?

What is "mydeck"? It's not something that Anki or AnkiDroid create. Are you 100% sure you're using the same account at all three ends? Try logging out and logging in again in all three places to be sure.

What do you mean AnkiWeb won't sync? Do you get an error anywhere?

I think mydeck is something Anki creates by default for new users. I know it looks like I'm using different accounts with different clients, but I definitely am only using one. Tried logging on and off repeatedly.

The weird thing is, there is no error and the application seems to sync stuff (it sends payload etc), but the update is not visible from other platforms/clients. It's as if Anki was syncing to somewhere else, some other account, but I definitely only use (and have only had) one, so there's no way I could be syncing my stuff to another account. I think I'll try reinstalling Anki again, deleting my account and opening a new one using a different e-mail address.

Ok, it seems to be working now. The problem seems to have been the fact that while logging in in the desktop client and on Ankiweb I kept entering my username and the field in AnkiDroid says 'e-mail address' so I entered that instead of my username. It occurred to me to try and log in to AnkiDroid using my username and not the e-mail address (despite the name of the field) and it worked. So it looks like it's really been syncing to two different places - "accounts" - even though I can only recall having one account and it's definitely been bound to the address I've been entering all the time.
