Hey,

I'm using 2.1beta4. When I open a deck and want to add new cards, the default deck in which they will be added is not the one I just opened like it used to be, but the most recently created deck. It's quite annoying to have to select the correct deck every time I add new cards.

You will have to use Anki desktop and then use deck override function in card type window. And then sync back to your Ankidroid.

But how come this happened at all? I think it would be a lot better to be able to do this in AnkiDroid or even better have it fixed automatically because I don't really want to download Anki Desktop just for this.

Actually someone who add cards on Ankidroid might be able to clarify, I think Ankidroid would/should work the same way, but I hardly ever use Ankidroid to add cards so I can not be sure.

And trust me, once you use Anki Desktop, you will never want to add cards with Ankidroid again (unless your notes are really simple ones with few fields).

I agree it would make sense that the "Add" button from the deck page would, by default, add to that deck.
That's just a bug I think. In desktop Anki, if you are on the deck page, add will by default select the deck you have open.

That said, I would like to second Xiao's advice about considering installing desktop Anki. AnkiDroid is meant to be a
companion app to Anki on the desktop, not a complete standalone solution. There are many things (like editing
and adding card templates) that are only supported via desktop Anki (and are likely to remain that way in the future).

Yep, I also recently encountered this. I suppose, the behavior changed in one of the updates.

I mostly use very basic and simple cards and add new words "on the fly" using Ankidroid and rarely use the desktop version, so would really love to see the behavior/bug changed back/fixed.

This is driving me crazy too. My cards keep getting added to defunct decks.
