(Hrm, I'm sorry if this comes out a double post. I posted before and I've waited 15 minutes and I don't see anything on the forum, so I am thinking there may have been a problem)

Anyways, the width of my cards in AnkiDroid is far too large. I can not study. I have to scroll far to see the content of my cards. The text does not wrap to the screen, either, due to the width. I use Windows as my desktop client, and I do not see this behavior. Attached is a screenshot of my template on Windows and the result on AnkiDroid.

I guess this is the same as your other issue, using the class "answer" on the back side of the card.

No, it's not. I removed the answer class and replaced it with .blue. Anyways, the text is not wrapping at the screen border. I tried changing it to be aligned left and its still a problem. See screenshot of my template on windows and the result on AnkiDroid.

Are there any other classes that AnkiDroid uses which the Desktop client doesn't?

None that should impact what you have. There's .question, .answer, #content, and .mobile, and all of them should cover the entire card content.

So can you think of why the width would be so large? I posted a screenshot before I asked about the classes

Nothing immediately stands out as a problem. If you are willing to send me that deck I can see if I can reproduce it and take a closer look at it for you.

As we've spoken via email... all my cards are being zoomed by about 2x by default, as I am able to zoom out from each fresh card. For whatever reason, my phone is locked in a zoomed or scaled state, and AnkiDroid is being affected by this.

I propose that you guys...

1) Each study card starts fully zoomed out

2) Enable wrapping when zoomed

3) something I haven't thought of just yet

Thanks!

#2 is a possibility.

The text reflow when zoomed was a huge point of contention when it first came out and google seems to want to keep it that way, so it's sad to say it's by design. It actually makes zooming in almost useless in AnkiDroid besides images since you have to scroll to read anything.

It's possible there are some settings to change this behaviour to some extent. I'll have a look later today.

#1 works too because I could just increase the font size using the .mobile class, or the font size scalar settings. Just sayin'

This seems so irritating. Why would I want to scroll in 2 directions to read something? It makes my head spin. It's so silly!

Okay #2 is out of the question.

We don't actively do anything to set the zoom level, but there is a setting that sounds like it could do what we want though. I'll email you an apk with the option on so you can test that.

Extraneous comment here:

Is the word "extraneous" is used correctly here in the title??
