With the little time i have off, i couldn't find a solution so i have to take it here.
The picture is enough to describe the problem: www.imgur.com/XsSpiAj
Is there an option to rotate the images in ankidroid(without rotating the phone itself)? Because when i upload images to ankidroid an even rotate them to stay straight in gallery, ankidroid still shows the card layed down, turned 90 degrees.

I don't have an answer here, but my phone takes pictures on their side for some reason. When I try to upload the pics elsewhere so often they are laying down. If I crop those photos, they stand up right. Go figure. I'm just guessing maybe you took that pic on your phone, and wouldn't have the same issue with pics you download from elsewhere.

Yeah phones usually take photos in the native orientation of the camera on the device, which is landscape. If you use the new 2.3 alpha versions of AnkiDroid, when you take the photos directly from AnkiDroid, they will be automatically rotated for you.

Otherwise you can try cropping as suggested, or find a 3rd party tool which fixes the rotation.

Did you ever find a solution? It's an irritating problem. Not sure why the program will change the image from it's normal default orientation.
