My Anki app doesn't work anymore

My Anki app suddenly has stopped open. The app's reinstallation and the phone's restart don't help to solve the problem. Need a piece of advice!

Do you see anything when you open the app? Or does it crash immediately?

I see the download's screen of the app. Then a sign appears. It reads "AnkiDroid has encountered a problem; a report is being sent to the developers..."
Then sometimes I am offered to write a message to the developers and sometimes not.
I tried to attach the screenshot of the problem to my first message.

I'm not sure what you mean by that.

I see, thank you. That's not good, did you change something on your phone recently?

Using a file manager on your Android device, could you please do the following?

1) Make a copy of the "AnkiDroid" folder for backup purposes, you can call it "AnkiDroid (backup)"

2) Enter the original "AnkiDroid" folder

3) Delete the file called "collection.anki2"

4) Open AnkiDroid again (it should work now)

5) Open settings and get your debug info (as per the instructions here)

6) Paste it here

OK, thanks, my app has really opened. But all my decks have disappeared. How can I get them back?
P.S. My debug info:
AnkiDroid Version = 2.8.2

Android Version = 5.1

ACRA UUID = d024af71-778e-436d-8f77-9d714d75052e

Can you please email me the collection.anki2 file from "AnkiDroid (backup)"? This contains your cards, but for some reason it's causing AnkiDroid to crash, so we need to figure out why it's crashing before we can get AnkiDroid working for you again.

I just got the new Note 8 and having same problem. Crashes when I try to open. Will try this solution and see what happens.

We'll need more information to help: https://docs.ankidroid.org/help.html#_support

You might make sure you are on the current version, perhaps do an uninstall/reinstall, and you should make sure the app has storage permissions
