Dear Readers,

I love the idea to use some bluetooth-device to control my card-decks. This feature is a must for me as my eyes get tired very soon and i will listen to sounds instead

There where ways to accomplish this task in the past (Zeemote) and some requested to support bluetooth-keyboards and shortcuts (the way i prefer most).

I was looking around the net and cannot find a definite answer if this is currently supported in the latest version 2.3.1

May someone can reply me a definite yes or no before i go to the shop and get one device ? This will of interest for other users, too

greetings
Martin

Hi Martin,

Unfortunately no, controllers are not currently supported.
We would strongly welcome a pull request from anyone wishing to implement such a feature.

Cheers,
Tim

Hello Martin,

I added some keyboard shortcuts in 2.3.1 to better support Chromebooks.
The shortcuts should work with any regular hardware keyboard, including
Bluetooth ones.
In the review screen, space or enter will show the answer of a card, 1-4
correspond to the ease buttons, etc. The shortcuts match Anki Desktop.

If you find that you're missing a few shortcuts that would make your
life easier, let us know by opening an issue on the bug tracker:

Cheers,
Alex

I have managed to get it work by using Bluez IME. This tool maps the controller to keystrokes. The current build however does not support answering by keyboard so i patched the source a little. Works like a charm for me, many thanks to the developers. Hope to see native support sometime.

regards,
Martin
