I don't know if it's a bug, but the number of upcoming reviews for the next day is always wrong.

Example: after finishing all reviews of all my decks yesterday, the statistics page showed 160 upcoming reviews for the next day (view mode: 'all decks').

Today I opened AnkiDroid and there where 270 reviews due already. This is the same every day.

So what's wrong with the counter? How can I see the real number of upcoming reviews within the next 24 hours? That should be very easy to calculate for Anki.

Ok, I got this answer in the Anki desktop support forum:

-
The forecast graph is showing the cards that are due tomorrow. It does not include cards that are already due, such as siblings that have been suspended or overdue cards.
-

That's a pity, cause the number of upcoming reviews is the ONLY "statistic" I'm interseted in. I don't need all the other information, just this one. (Because I need to make a review schedule for the next day and 100 or 200 reviews more than shown means 1 or 2 hours more I need to include in my day)

So is there any chance that you AnkiDroid developers include the "real" number of upcoming reviews within the next 24h into the statistics? That should be very easy to calculate.

Thanks Mike for your suggestion to turn on advanced statistics. I tried it out and it seems to be pretty close to the real numbers. After finishing all reviews yesterday (0 cards left), the normal forecast said:
Tomorrow: 176 cards

Then the browser search told me:
Is:Buried: 71 cards
Is:Due: 14 cards

->Sum: 261 cards

With turned on advanced stats the forecast graph showed:
Graph today: ca. 36 cards
Graph tomorrow: ca. 232

->Sum: 268 cards

The real number that AnkiDroid shows me right now (today) is: 266 cards.

So the advanced stats seems to be more accurate than the numbers I can search via the browser. Thanks for that hint, the forecast graph is really helpful!

Short feedback after a few weeks observating the upcoming reviews chart with advanced statistics turned on:

Only the very next day (day 1) gives the correct amount of due cards since there are always some cards left on day 0 which need to be added to day 1.

1) I wonder why there are always cards left on day 0 even if I revied all cards, including the repeated rewiews for wrong and new learned cards.

2) the other days are always wrong. The chart always shows around 240 - 260 cards but in reality it is 300 - 320 cards (plus the repeated reviews for wrong and new cards, getting a total of up to 350 cards per day)

Sorry - I think I answered this too quickly before. I think the buried
sibling cards are what throws the counts off?

I was observating the forecast chart (advanced statistics turned ON) for another 10 days and noted down the numbers every day.

Result: the forecast for the very next day is always accurate (when adding day0 and day1 of the chart). It tells me exactly the number of total review I'll do on the next day (including buried and wrong cards).

All other days are always incorrect. Seems that they are missing the buried and wrong (repeated) cards). The chart is always around 30-40 cards to low.

I strongly recommend to include the buried and wrong cards into the chart as well, otherwise it is not very useful

Hi Axel - if adding those counts makes the chart accurate it seems like
a worthwhile change

Can you create an issue on GitHub to track this?
