I'm trying to share a deck I created with my student. They have a chromebook. My anki flashcard app only have an option to export. When I export, I've chosen to email the file to my student. When my student clicks on the file in the email, it downloads, yet the anki app doesn't find it. I've down what I know how to do to 'import' the deck into their app. In the app, there's no option to import a deck from a file.

I posted this question in the 'community ' section and a rep said that I should post this in the AnkiDroid section. In my pull down category section, there's no AnkiDroid section. If you have any link to that specfic location to post this, please provide.

Thank you in advance for any assisstance you'd be able to provide.

You're at the right place here for anything AnkiDroid. ;)

AnkiDroid has an "Import" function, you can access it via the overflow menu (3 dots in top right) in the main deck list. For this, the student needs to move the downloaded deck into the indicated directory. See also the relevant manual section: https://ankidroid.org/docs/manual.html#importing

In general, double-clicking the downloaded deck should also work to open it with AnkiDroid, but maybe that doesn't work on Chromebooks (we don't have the means to test on Chromebooks at the moment and can't guarantee that all features work there).

No "Import" option in the overflow menu.  I have searched and clicked on everything to find an Import option.  There's only an "Export" option.  I've attached a picture.  I'll take any other suggestions you may have.  The "Import" option is there with my Samsung phone Anki app.

Sorry, I forgot about this. From an earlier post: "These options are disabled because import/export is not working on ChromeOS. You can follow issue #3420 for updates. The work-around would be to import decks in some other Anki version and then sync with your Chromebook."

Here's a link to the anki chrome app I downloaded.  In reading through some of the comments, I see several people are  having the same issue of not being able to import.

Yes, as I wrote above it's disabled because it doesn't work on Chromebooks.
