Morning,
I'll preface this by saying that I've been using Anki for over a year on a daily basis and have never encountered any kind of problem with deck synchronization.

Unfortunately, however, today I'm unable to sync decks. Every time I try to sync, the message "select the collection to keep: Ankiweb or Ankidroid" appears. I'm afraid of damaging my decks, which now consist of more than 10,000 cards; so I'm asking you what I should do to solve the problem and get back to having efficient synchronization.
Thank you.

Hi there!

Sounds like you've made a change somewhere that requires a full sync.

Only you know which side (ankiweb, or ankidroid) has the most up to date review information.

Once you have correctly determined which side is newer, you should choose to replace whichever side is older with the newer side.

So if AnkiDroid was the place with most recent reviews, choose "Keep AnkiDroid"

More information https://docs.ankiweb.net/syncing.html#conflicts

Also, AnkiDroid takes backups about once a day, just in case: https://github.com/ankidroid/Anki-Android/wiki/FAQ#lost-my-cards

Hi. A few days ago I faced similar problem. I was a little bit surprised as in my case:
 - collections were synced once in a few days
 - accidentally I've got, the "Collections can't be combined ..." warning dialog
 - no editions (that I recall) in AnkiDroid
 - no sync (since the previous successful sync) from the desktop version

I realize that most likely, it might be a problem on the server side. Especially, that I've been using the same 2.15.6 for a while (not new betas in Google Play).

It should be safe to keep my AnkiDroid collection, but still, maybe more people experienced similar issue.

I, too, have experienced this on my Samsung tablet - currently using AnkiDroid 2.15.6.  Occasionally I change the "type" of a note, and I then expect to have to upload the full collection.  But on one occasion, a few days ago, I was asked to do that when I had made no major changes at all.  So to be on the safe side, I uploaded the full collection to AnkiWeb.

Having done that, of course, I expected to have to download the entire collection to my phone (also running AnkiDroid 2.15.6) and my computer (running Anki 2.1.49 on Linux).  But neither of them has required that - so clearly the original request for a full up/download was completely unnecessary.  Subsequent syncing has been normal on all 3 devices.
