I know this may be more of an Image occlusion issue than an AnkiDroid issue, but I was hoping to get some input nonetheless.

On my Note 3, Image occlusion presents perfectly (I choose red on black for Question/occlusion color scheme - see red box in first image).

On my brand new Nexus 6, for some reason the Question portion isn't getting displayed (just all black boxes).

The images below are the same card on each phone.  AnkiDroid versions on both phones are the exact same (2.1.2).

Any idea how I could fix this on my Nexus? It make it unusable because I have no idea which box to name.

Thanks!

Derp. AnkiDroid version is 2.4.2 on both phones, not 2.1.2

same issue with my Nexus 4 (version 2.4.2). Has only happened recently and used to work as intended. The same questions work fine on my desktop version of Anki (surface 3 pro) and my iphone 5 version of Anki so it seems to be isolated to Anki on Nexus devices?

The browser in Android 5.1 seems to render SVGs differently than before and the add-on maintainer needs to fix it. I had a look at the github page for the add-on and someone has already proposed a fix for this issue. You will probably just need to wait until it is merged and a new version of the add-on is released.

I'm having the same problem. And the cause of this issue is Android 5.1 Web viewer.
What I did to solve it? Play store >> My apps >> Android Web viewer and Uninstalled updates to this app!  And everything was back normal

It's "Android system webview", sorry for the typo!

Unfortunate that didn't work for me...I even went into apps settings and straight up disabled it... No dice 😟

For future reference, please refer to the FAQ, where I have just added a new entry for this issue:
