Hello, I need help with font customizing.

For the purpose of learning japanese, I need two different fonts on my flashcards. On my desktop Anki I managed that, by customizing the fonts in my cards, even in the web it looks good and the same as on my desktop Anki, but when I try to export my deck or sync it with my Ankidroid on my Android phone, there is no change, still the same deafult font, which is not good for japanese. I have tryed to copy my custom font straight to the phone, but when I choose it in font settings, the front of the card is okay, but the back of the card is unreadable.
Do you have someone any ideas, where is the problem?

Thanks for the help.

Stepan

Hi please read carefully through the corresponding section in the manual:

If you still can't figure it out then post your card template, and the settings that you are using for font and override font in AnkiDroid.

Okay i have read the manual many times and the best what I got was that i have two different fonts on the desktop application and on the web, but not in my phone. I will post my card template later, when I use my own PC, but what do you mean by override font? I cant find this option anywhere. I have found some older discussion about the same problem, but it was probably older version of the ankidroid app, beacuse the solution was to turn off quick webview update, but i cant find this option in settings on my phone.

It's under settings > fonts

When you say "two different fonts", do you mean "two different custom fonts"? I.e. have you gotten it working for one custom font but not another?

You mentioned copying the font manually to your phone; which folder did you copy the font to?

In fonts settings I have only Default font, Default font applicability, Browser and editor font and three font scaling options. I customized the front of the card with one japanese font I downloaded somewhere and back of the card with courier new, which I picked from the fields option in desktop app, I dont care baout the second one, just that its readable. I created new fonts folder on my phone according the manual and there I copied the font. Later I could choose the font in font options in my phone, but that changes the font for the whole deck and not just the part of the card I need and makes the rest unreadable. So I proceeded with customizing the separate fields in the cards option in desktop app according the manual, which helped, I could use it on desktop, but not on my phone.

> Default font applicability

That's the one. Since you are using the official Anki desktop method, that setting needs to be set to "When no font specified on flashcards".

Also, you need to make sure that any custom fonts are in the "collection.media" folder on your Android device, and they are named the same as they were on Anki Desktop.

Finally its working, I had to manually copy second font for the back of the flash card, to my phone and now it shows everything properly. Thanks for your help and patience.
