JPG and PNG Images Inserted from Desktop Not Displaying AnkiDroid

I have Anki Notes 2 for Windows and have created 12 cards that are simply a JPG or PNG image on the front by dragging the image into the notes in Anki. After syncing to AnkiDroid, only of the images displays, the rest are very small blue squares.

Can you please help me troubleshoot?

Can you see those images on AnkiWeb? What are some of the filenames?

I've discovered the images do appear when I go to the card browser (in AnkiDroid) and select the "image/media" button to the right of the field which has "href..." in it.

I can't figure out how to un-suspend these cards (on AnkiDroid) to view them on AnkiWeb and I'm not at my desktop installation to do this right now (is there a way to un-suspend cards in AnkiDroid? I'm on the card browser but I don't see a way to do this), but here are some of the card names...

You know...something tells me these images don't show because there are spaces in the image name...am I right?

Can I change the file names in AnkiDroid when I view the filenames in the browser, or will that only break the reference? Do I need to change the file name in a desktop installation?

Okay, the images DO show up on AnkiWeb.

I guess all that remains is for me to figure out how to change the image name...assuming that's the problem. There is not way to do that in AnkiWeb or AnkiDroid, is there?

The spaces shouldn't be a problem. When you long tap on a card in browser, and hit "Preview" do the images show up?

It shouldn't be a problem, but the only two notes that are showing have no spaces in the file name and it looks like the other 12 (that aren't showing up) do.

No, the images do not display when I long-press in the browser and select preview (unless the image has no space in the file name).

I've gone to my media folder in my documents on my desktop pc and renamed all of the images with spaces in the name, and synced to Ankiweb and then synced AnkiDroid on my phone, I was very excited as I was certain this was going to fix the problem.

It did not.

So, I now have no idea of what to do.

The images are not renamed in AnkiDroid when I go to my browser and look at the cards that show images on the front...Why not?

Even if this is not the problem, I've renamed the cards on my desktop and synced...shouldn't they be renamed?

I've renamed the references in the cards browser to have an underscore in the name (as I renamed them in the media folder in my pc) in AnkiDroid and the images are showing now.

Make sure that “Fetch media on sync” is enabled in the settings, otherwise images and audio won’t be synchronised.
