We tried making a temporary posse (we cannot pay for a permanent one) and invited each other. We can see each other and roam together. But every time we try a mission (stranger or yellow ones) we get split up.

I don't care if we are against or teamed-up with other player, I just want to play with her. I read tricks here and there, but it seemed ways to manipulate matchmaking.
Is it not possible to just play coop mission reliably ?
Is the whole online mode broken for playing with friends ?

Both free roam activities (trader resupply, sales, strangers, bounties, hideouts, free roam events, etc.) and instanced activities (story, moonshiner story, showdowns, etc.) can be done co-op. When you are both in the same posse (temporary and permanent both work) and the posse leader chooses to to start an activity, all posse members join.

You said you invited each other, but did you accept the invite afterwards? On PC, after receiving an invite, you can hold F1 to view and accept it. Otherwise, you can open your player menu and look at your invites there. If you have trouble with invites, you can also change your posse settings from the player menu to be "Open" instead of "invite only". The other player can then find your posse in the player menu join it. You can then change the posse back to "invite only" if you don't want other people to join.

Hello, I'm trying to invite a friend to my camp but I'm unable to do so. Reading through a brief Google research, it seems that one must have beaten the tutorial, which is pretty obvious I've done so.

Pressing the touchpad, the game opens the menu for online players, but I'm unable to invite someone to my session and I always have to go to theirs, which is weird since my friend is high level so I wanted that he could give me a hand with few levels, trophies and chill around.

Is your friend in offline mode by chance? You can't invite them if they are. And visa versa. Also remember to push the D-Pad right once their name is high-lighted, to invite them. I don't think your friend's level has anything to do with this problem either. Im playing with lower level friends, and don't have this issue. MCD is buggy sometimes.

Nope. There's literally no suggestion to do that in the menu at all. I'm always online, as he is. No prompt, neither any indicator that you can invite to your camp or something. Also, the only option I see to do is to join them, not to invite them is really annoying, to be honest.

I googled and couldn't find any answers, but what solved it was that I (the game host) turned off cross-play in the menu, made sure everybody had restarted the game after the tutorial and then they were able to join my session as it appeared on their list as soon as I switched the cross-play off. We are all on PS5.

I tried to do that with my friend. He transferred his progress from his Switch, and he plays on PS5, and he remade the tutorial for the sake of this issue. Searched for info across the web, and yes, there's nothing about it. A really strange bug happening here. I only have a PS4, but I see people playing on the same platform yet can't solve the problem. The server shouldn't be an issue, as the game is based on a PS4 game and not a PS5 one.

I turned-off cross play of course, but I can only join his session; but cannot invite him to mine, which is my issue. I have this because my character and game are still low level, have to unlock many things and I would like that my friend help me with those to play together and help him with trophies too.

I see sessions for other people in my profile though, but I can just join them, not invite them. It pisses me off, as honestly this game is weird, the progress is frustrating and can't actually play as my likeness because you are tied to RNG loot, which in turn you must adapt to it instead all the way around; hence, the help of other people to give you hand to get better loot and so on.

Did you manage to solve the invitation issue? Yesterday, my friend and I wanted to play together in the PS+ version, both on PS5, and despite turning off the cross-play option, we still couldn't invite each other. Not visible sessions too. We even tried to adding each other on xbox app :/ No luck.

Finally, the other form of communication in ACNH is good ol' fashion mail! Just head to Dodo Airlines and interact with the card stand on the right of Orville. From here you can send a letter to another resident (human or animal!), your future self, or any friend! They'll get the letter shortly after.

I have 2 quests 2 and i have shared my creed rise to glory with my second account i login on that one and my friend one the other, and only i can see him "playing creed" in the friendlist but he can't(0 friend and yes we are friends on oculus). i can send invites to him but he doesn't recieve anything. We can find matches with strangers so we are connected.

Same problem! And here's the kicker......when I play random strangers, every 6th or 7th match I'll hook up with the friend I wanted to invite. We can play over and over so I know it works. None of my friends are showing up in CREED. Can't see friends online and can't send any invites. Frustrating. Hopeful there is a quick fix.

I have the same problem. I JUST bought a second headset because my kid really wants to play together. Nope. Doesn't work. We are friends on Oculus, but he's not on my friend list in the game, yet I'm on his. He sent me an invite, but I didn't get it. He's feeling pretty let down. These sets are expensive and getting the 2nd one has been a pretty anticlimactic experience so far.

Sorry to hear that Chaucer, never did get it fix'd. That said, Zicelman is 100% correct. You'd need to buy it on both devices to play together. Or, both of you go into multiplayer and hit the search button at the same time, 1/5 chance you'll randomly connect with your friend. Great game, Good luck!
