Understanding an animo graph means to know how to make one 8it). So
understanding is knowledge or more specifically procedural knowledge.
The know-how, the know to plus verb format of of knowledge and NOT
lexical knowledge, which is usually a collection of noun phrases or
clusters, which are nothing but labels, tags, titles and headings
attached to or assigned to objects. But it is the relation between
those objects that we are all after, admitting that objects as a first
round of discovering relations have properties which can also be said
to be equal to the proposition that an object is a group of other
objects, which are then seen as parts. But that is still not the kind
of relation that you are after in understanding as such parts added
together may not result in a whole, as there is a difference between
additive and productive relations.
It is the productive relations that we are after, the process in space-
time in which objects are assembled to make a new object that is NOT
the sum of the parts.
So a 2d picture of an animo graph does not tell anything about how the
graph is generated without knowing which an animo graph is not
understandable TO ME - at least.
