Anime News Network broke the story yesterday that the final chapters
of the Inuyasha manga will become an anime series finally bringing an
end to the story. These will consist of the last 21 compiled book
volumes of the manga and will air on Japan's YTV this fall. The
original Japanese cast will return to reprise their roles in the final
season. After this it will be it for Inuyasha unless they do more
movies.

Viz will likely pick up the license for the final season for release
in North America, a likely US release will be 2010 after translation
and dubbing. They are already releasing Rumiko Takahashi's latest
manga Kyōkai no Rinne as "RIN-NE", and Takahashi-san is releasing the
manga online for free viewing via The Rumic World.com website
simultaneously with the Japanese release of the manga for North
American fans of her work. This is why we call the Queen of Manga, she
knows how to treat her fans like royalty.
