You may remember me months ago when I said that I was seeking to
publish one of my sci-fi concepts called "Children Of Mars". I looked
into comic book publishers but they were not interested or they don't
reply to my proposals. Then I looked into book publishers because I
also wrote a novel version of the concept and found a traditional
publisher that would be more then happy to publish my work to the
public. The publisher is PublishAmerica, a decade old publisher based
near Washington DC and I still own all the rights to the serious.

For my novel I also did my own Illustrations and cover art that's been
done in a Anime like style, a cover designer did the rest of course.
you can find the beginning novel at Amazon, PublishAmerica's website
and anywhere else almost. My publisher only sells in US, Canada and
Europe so if some of you live in Japan you might not be able to get
your hands on this book, sorry, but I know there are ways of course.
The name of the first book is "Children Of Mars In Romancing The Spy".

It's about a Star Knight that goes by the name Triple Seven or #777( a
hint on what this guy looks like, a brown hair inuyasha somewhat with
aviator sunglasses and Native American), a Hybrid human born on Mars
that falls for a Spy from Earth that goes by the name Agent Ponytail.
They go on adventures in America, Africa, Japan and in orbit around
Saturn and Venus. But Ponytail betrayed Triple Seven and stole
technology from the Martians. Of course that's all I'm going to say I
don't want to spoil the book.

Right now I'm working on book two called "Children Of Mars in Why We
Fight" where a few years later the Martians fight their first war in
Africa, the Middle East and Space. It sounds like the War of the
Worlds but far far different, for an example the Martians are fighting
to help Earth instead of destroying it. It's told by a jaded, raging
lesbian Star Knight General named #50. I should be done with this one
by summer and personally this one sounds like a bombshell of a story,
if the first one doesn't get too popular the second one will be huge.

So that's where I'm at right now and later I will write humor and
maybe horror novels. But this doesn't mean I'm just going to write
novels, I will also do short animated films later on.

WOW! That's great, I'm going to have to look up this publisher
because I'm also working on a novel that will be part of series. It
also helps that I live near D.C. too. The story is a mix of science
fiction and fantasy and has elements which are heavily inspired by
anime such as transforming mecha and the like. The story is epic and
would take a long time t explain. Basically a young prince is
obsessed with finding out the truth behind his older brother's murder,
his investigation uncovers more than he bargained for and the truths
he finds transforms his life and his perception of what is "reality"
forever.

Give them a try, PublishAmerica works allot like a independent
publisher, you don't have to have a literacy agent to talk to them and
they will work with you during the pre-production process. Some
advice, they don't do too much editing to your novel or if they like
it enough they will leave it as is, mostly it has to do with copyright
and protecting the authenticity of the literacy, so do plenty of test
reads and watch for minor typos, because in my first published novel I
found some rather embarrassing typos here and there but not enough to
hurt the story though; though I would loose a few points with the more
obsessive compulsive readers. And you don't have to live near
Washington to work with them, but that would help.

Terribly cool. Just wondering, what's the distrobution on your novel
going to be like? I mean, if it's going to be in Border's and Barnes
and Nobles and whatnot, then I'll definately pick it up.

As for me, I'm thinking of using PublishAmerica and I'm also doing
some research to find out how I can get my book not the Kindle 2.
It'll be a while I've just started writing so it will be a while.

Those distributors were mentioned on there website. But it depends on
witch distributors buys and sells the novels. My publisher does offer
these distributors the novel but they can't just place these books on
their shelf and website, normally doesn't work that way. But what you
can do if you really want a copy from one of these distributors but
they don't have a copy, request a copy and they would be more then
happy to get you one. I've posted the book title here but here's the
ISBN number and my author name if they ask for pacific details.

Children Of Mars in Romancing The Spy
David L. Berge
ISBN# 1-60813-615-9

I'm very new on the scene so I'm not going to be one of the most best
selling authors yet, but maybe in due time if given enough support
from growing fans of the serious.
