My Fellow Artists,

The Artist Alley rules for 2012 have been updated and posted to the
AnimeNEXT website, along with the FAQ. (the formatting is a bit wonky,
but please read anyway.)

Please note that they have been a few changes, notably that a few
things have been added to the NOT Allowed list, and that I've had to
change the Display rules.

What was added to the NOT Allowed List:

Candles, since they are flammable.
Bath and Body products, such as lotions, soaps and perfumes.
Any and all types of Food and Drinks

Displays:
Artists, when you rent a table in the Artist Alley, you are paying for
the 6ft (or 3ft depending) by 2.5 foot space on TOP of the Table to
display and sell your goods. You are not renting a Booth, where you
can put free standing displays to the side or even in front of your
table. You are able to use the space behind your table, again which
would be the width of your table (6ft or 3ft) to the Wall (or curtain)
or roughly 4 ft behind your table if you are in an island. You are not
allowed to remove your table and use the space as a Booth either. If
you want a Booth, where you can have any size table or stand that will
fit, then you need to go into the Dealer's room.

Why this is important? First off, when you try to expand beyond your
space, you are intruding into another Artists space, space they paid
for as well. Or worse, you are blocking needed aisle space that causes
a hazard to attendees and makes traffic worse.

I know this has been tollerated in the past, but this year the rules
have been updated to ban any free staning displays that are not either
on TOP of your Table, or directly Behind your Table.

Please keep in mind that we don't have height restrictions, so long as
your display is safe, sturdy and secure. And there are many ways to
expand display space thru the use of wire cubes or even spinning
displays. Just keep it on TOP of the table, where it belongs.

If you have any questions, or want the rule updates clarified, please
go to the Artist Alley forum to ask your questions.

Thank you,
Inyx~
