BASIC INSTRUCTION MANUAL?

Some smart people here!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE ANIMATA!!!
I know I'll love it more when I figure out how to work it. I've done 3-d modeling /animation so I get some of the functions but....
in what order does Animata need bones, joints, skin etc?...seems backwards of what I know.
How do ya move, animate a "piece / puppet? I get an image of what I built but I can't move it...mouse? arrow keys? shift+ ?
And a couple of tabs have no controls /buttons / anything on them...am I missing sumptin'?
I would really love just a basic set up and instruction manual...page...anything!
Does such a thing exist ? or is this a program for programmers only and if I was more of a programmer , I would just "know" how to use this AWESOME tool!!?
