This is Lucy, 8yr old, spayed female, came in very overweight and is 17lbs. She would be a very small cat once she loses her weight. Visits out of her cage are just not enough to keep her happy anymore. Lucy has been known to be sweet however over the last 5 months she has been here, we have seen her behavior slowly change. She is frustrated now, doesn’t want to be in her cage but gets overwhelmed outside of her cage if too many people are around. Being couped up this long has changed her to start swatting and nipping at us sometimes around her cage. One of our volunteers was petting her yesterday while she was laying in her cage, seemingly happy about the interaction. She turned and bit the volunteer breaking the skin. Lucy is at her limit for being in a kennel environment and needs a foster home.

Lucy was given up by her owner because she said she couldn’t physically take care of a cat anymore and was going into a nursing home. Lucy was probably used to a quiet home. Lucy was so good in the beginning and just lovely. She loves to sit with you and be brushed, Owner said she did not get along with other cats and was afraid of kids and would hide.
