Good morning all,Yesterday, Animal Control was dispatched to call for a dog that was possibly hit by a car. Upon first look, it was obvious something was going on with her back leg. AC was able to get her medical attention at Carolina Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Davis- under the good samaritan fund. (donations can be called in at 919-258-3349). It was determined that her hip was completely displaced. They stabilized her, managed her pain, and got her hip put back where it belongs. Her prognosis is cautiously optimistic- with 4 to 6 weeks of crate rest with her hip in a sling will hopefully heal properly. If not, she may need surgical intervention, only time will tell.We are reaching out in hopes that we can get her placed with a rescue organization to continue her care. Obviously, a shelter like ours is not able to provide the care and attention she needs throughout the day and night. She would best heal in a home with the ability to be observed close to 24/7.If you are able to help, do not hesitate to reach out. Medical questions can also be directed to Carolina Vet if needed. Thank you for your time reading this, and consideration.(More photos of her from this morning are attached as files to this email.)
