Galactus 3- 3yo, unaltered, male
Meet Galactus 3. This sweet soul came to BARCS on 9/25 as an animal control violation. Galactus was reported to have been in a situation of physical cruelty and neglect. Here at BARCS, Galactus is a bit nervous as he settles in, but he has been a gentle boy. Treats are the way to his heart! He is eager to engage, and steadily checks in with you. He knows “sit.” If you sit down with him, he comes right to you and even put his head in your lap.
Upon examination Galactus was hesitant and fearful, but cooperative and very food motivated! His skin is pink/mildly inflamed overall, however we can't rule out a flea allergy or other allergic dermatitis at this time. Galactus is very thin.
With other dogs, Galactus did interact politely with a small breed dog!
Dog test notes with larger dogs- Initially mouth closed, tail high, following to mount female helper, shake off, ground sniff, coexist, polite rear greetings to known female dog. Tense greeting w/ active adult male who was face to face and slightly posturing; softer greetings to smaller, gentler males.
Twice he snapped at handler attempting to clip flat leash to the collar, side eye. Watchful/wary of handler in catch pen from then on. Staff took the leash to guide into play yard and removed slip lead.
Galactus can only be transferred to a rescue, and is available for immediate pick up.
