This is Licorice, neutered male, 7yrs, Maltese mix who was found at large. He has a microchip but his owner did not come in to get him. He was matted, dirty and had skin issues. He is being treated and his skin is already looking better. He has a heart murmur and our vet recommends he needs a dental and some bloodwork. He also has a cracked tooth. (9/8/25: He needs a bath w/ Benzoyl Peroxide shampoo 2x/week whole body, but do feet daily for 1 week.)

 

Licorice is a nice, friendly, sweet dog that gets along with the other dogs here. He barks when he is first left alone, so we recommend no apartments on him. We do have him available for adoption, but with his heart murmur and dental needs, he would do best in a rescue that can give him the care he needs.

 

If you can take this pet, be sure to send me an email by Monday night, 9-15-25, so I can make a note of it.

 

After this date as long as there are no severe behavior or medical changes and no space issues, he will stay available for adoption.
