Najia (A514149) is the kind of girl who makes every day brighter just by being in it. She absolutely loves walks and greets everyone with a tail wag so big it might lift her off the ground! Affection is her love language — she’ll rub against you like a cat and happily soak up every pet and cuddle, always ready to be your #1 fan. The shelter environment has been overwhelming for her at times, and she would thrive as the one-and-only pup in a home where she can soak up all the love and attention she craves. 3 years young, spayed female, 61pounds.

Fair Lady (A538886) Came to MCASAC as a stray. Fair Lady urgently needs out of the shelter. She has what we call “bad kennel presence”—not because she’s aggressive, but because she’s terrified and desperately wants out. In her kennel she barks and jumps at the door, which can look intimidating, but this is fear, not meanness. Outside of the kennel, Fair Lady is simply a scared dog trying to cope. She wants love and attention to feel safe. She has participated in a dog playgroup and did well playing with other pups. Estimated to be about 2 years old terrier mix, about 54 lbs, spayed female.

Harry (A540209) is a deeply fearful dog who is shutting down in the shelter environment and urgently needs the safety of a rescue to decompress. He consistently shows high levels of stress — trembling, freezing, whale eye, and moving in slow motion — yet he has never shown forward aggression and allows handling, muzzling, and medical care without incident. With time and patience, he has made small but meaningful progress. He is seeking out gentle pets and taking treats softly. Harry needs rescue placement now so he can continue to build confidence outside of the overwhelming shelter setting. Estimated 4 years old, neutered male, 65lbs.

Ordelia (A534493) is a gentle, thoughtful pup who is still learning how to feel confident in new situations. She can be a little nervous at first, but she warms up quickly—especially if you have a few tasty treats to share. She takes them gently and appreciates kind words and soft pets. On walks, Ordelia does beautifully—she’s easy to leash, curious about her surroundings, and enjoys quietly observing the world around her. Estimated to be 8 years young, spayed female boxer type mix.

Starr (A534709) is an easy-going girl who often gets overlooked in the crowded shelter, quietly waiting in her kennel for someone to notice her. She may be shy at first, but once she warms up, she absolutely loves her people — she’ll happily crawl into your lap and even try to “dance” with you when she’s excited! Her playful, high-energy personality shines, especially if there’s a rope toy involved, and she already knows “sit” and walks well on leash. Starr just needs a someone who can see how much of a Star she is to show the devoted, fun-loving companion calmly laying in the kennel.

Cordova (A538037) was surrendered due to landlord issues — not behavior — and now urgently needs a quiet rescue placement to recover from recent TPLO surgery (2/16). The busy shelter environment makes proper healing difficult, as she requires strict indoor rest with short harness walks as she begins her recovery. Cordova is a calm, affectionate senior who loves belly rubs and simply wants comfort and stability while she heals. Your rescue could be the difference between prolonged stress and the peaceful recovery this sweet girl deserves. 7 years old, spayed female 60lbs.

Cali (A539074) is struggling in the busy shelter environment and urgently needs a rescue placement to decompress. She presents with poor kennel behavior — barking and appearing defensive — which causes adopters to pass her by, but outside of the kennel she shows interest in toys, eagerly takes treats, and has engaged in play like fetch. Cali is wary of fast movements and handling and needs slow, patient introductions, as she has shown fear-based reactions during medical procedures. In a rescue setting, she will have the chance to feel safe, build trust, and show who she truly is beyond the stress of the shelter. She was surrendered due to landlord restrictions. Previous owner said she loved going to the dog park and playing with other dogs. Cali is 5 years young, spayed female, 68lbs

Violet (A525330) is a sweet girl recovering from a leg fracture who urgently needs rescue placement to keep her activity strictly limited while she heals. The shelter is simply too busy and stressful for her to sit still and recover. Despite her injury, she remains incredibly friendly and affectionate — greeting everyone with soft tail wags, kisses, and a gentle, social demeanor. She’s treat-motivated, eager to please, and handled exams beautifully. Violet just needs a calm environment, bathroom-break-only activity, and weekly splint changes to stay on track for a full recovery. Was loose and wiggly when meeting another pup. Violet is 1 year 9 months old (just a baby) spayed female 68lbs.

Creme Brulee (A535118) is irresistibly sweet, but he’s got a lively, rambunctious side too! Full of energy and curiosity, he loves playtime, zoomies, and finding any excuse to make you laugh. This little bundle of joy thrives on attention and affection, and he’s always ready to charm anyone he meets with his playful personality and wagging tail. Life with Creme Brulee is never dull. He’s the perfect mix of sweetness and spunk, just waiting for a family who can keep up with his playful antics. He is getting stressed in kennel and has manged to not only give himself happy tail (wagging his tail so hard against the kennel it's bleeding) but he coined a new one "happy ear" he is shaking his head so much his ears are hurt. No ear infection or mites just keeps hurting his ears . Estimated 2 years young, neutered male, about 60 pounds.

Boomerang (A533522) is still holding onto hope that someone will see how loving and sweet he can be. He is often overlooked here in the shelter despite being a volunteer and staff favorite. He has been in shelter since July without a break. Would LOVE to head out to find a new adopter pool where they see his amazing qualities not just the black and white pittie next to the other black and white pittie. He is good-natured, enthusiastic and adventurous pup who is a pleasure to be with. His tail is always wagging, and his energy is contagious! He enjoys a long hike where he can experience the sights, sounds, and (especially!) scents of the woods and fields. But he is equally happy to take a rest break on a bench or a blanket, leaning into his humans, observing the activity around him, and returning pets and back scratches with lots of kisses! Estimated to be 2 years young, neutered male, 58 pounds.

We are currently facing critical space limitations and are running out of room to continue providing care for these pups. They have been in the shelter far too long and urgently need to leave the stressful shelter environment to have a real chance at finding their forever homes. If you’re able to step up for even one of these deserving dogs, please let us know — your help truly makes the difference.

We know there are lots of pups out there looking for their forever home and chance to join your program. Thank you for taking a moment to consider these diamonds in the ruff.

Every diamond needs someone to see their sparkle — is that you?
