Hi Peggy,

I hope you are well.  I’m writing to ask if you can network these beauties for me. I have been fostering them for a little over a month.

As you know, these two Beagle coonhound mix came into my yard at the beginning of August. As soon as we put them in the barn we realized they were covered in ticks- I’ve never seen ticks that big. They were in pain. They were also very emaciated. We took them to the vet because we were worried they wouldn’t make it, but they’ve made a great recovery with some love, care, and medicine.

Koda (larger dog) is about 60 pounds.
Patches is about 45 pounds.

Both are very very loving and long for human interaction and attention. They love going on walks and are getting used to the leash very well.

Because they’re hounds, they will need to be on a leash at all times and preferably would go to a home with a fenced yard.

Koda is heartworm positive and Patches is heartworm negative. Both about a year old.

They are either siblings or mother and baby, and very bonded. They LOVE to play together and also play with toys!  It is so much fun watching them play together.

Like most hounds, Koda does bark when she gets excited.

They both do well with other dogs but would need slow introductions if going to a home with cats.

Patches is an escape artist but she only tries to do it when she fears that the humans are leaving her behind. She probably has some separation anxiety.

Both are learning how to sit and learning how to love and trust a crate.

We have 12 rescues in our care—  3 dogs, 6 cats, and 3 elderly sick horses. If we didn’t, we would strongly consider keeping these girls because of how sweet and friendly and smart they are.  Koda and Patches really need a loving home and a couch to lay on.

My prayer is that they can be adopted together because they are bonded. It would break my heart to separate them. I would rather them stay here with us if it meant them having to be separated.

I pray that these girls find rescue interest.
They are going to be awesome pets for the right family.

Thank you,
Rachel Moore
