Freud was returned to the shelter on 2/23 after being adopted on 2/13. He was originally found as a stray on 1/16.
Freud is housetrained and already knows “sit.” He walks nicely on leash at a calm pace and enjoys engaging with toys and treats. He has spent time in a foster home, proving to be a well-mannered, velcro companion, happily following his person from room to room, relaxing on the couch, and sleeping through the night.
Freud’s interactions with other dogs are more complex. He exhibits intense barrier and leash reactivity, with stiff running and lunging at dog noises or dogs in play. He has shown possible conflict drive, including running at or muzzle-punching other dogs who correct him. This behavior was noted in both the shelter and his previous home. Freud may do best as an only dog or in a carefully managed home with experienced handlers who can provide structure and guidance.
Freud does have a low-grade heart murmur. He appears healthy otherwise. A full medical summary can be provided upon request.
