Dear All,
Apologies for troubling all of you with this dilemma, but I am at my wits end. Some people staying at the bottom of our road acquired a Husky cross 7 month old puppy thinking he would make a good guard dog. Unfortunately Huskies aren't barkers and so the dog has more or less been tied up and left to his own devices as he was a boisterous boy and as he had previously been in a home with 2 dogs who were bred to fight, it would appear that he doesn't take kindly to other animals although this has to yet be proved. He has a warm, friendly nature and I was on the verge of taking him myself, but as I already have a german shepherd and a malamute, I was warned that adding a 3rd dog to an established dynamic between 2 dogs was not a good idea.
He had previously spent a week at the SPCA as he contracted tick bite fever and I have had him dipped, dewormed and given him a tick collar to avoid this happening again. He has not been neutered as yet, but I am willing to arrange that if I can find a suitable home for him.
DARG are on the case, but as he needs a kennel all to himself until they can establish if he is a biter or if he is just a frustrated puppy, they have not been able to take him as yet.
I am appealing to anyone who might know of someone who would be willing to home this lovable puppy and give him a chance as I sincerely believe that he will thrive in the right environment and with genuine love, attention and exercise.
