MAINTENANCE FOREMAN
The Capital District Transportation Authority in Albany NY is currently recruiting a Maintenance Foreman. The mechanical department operates twenty four hours per day, 365 days per year.
CDTA’s mission is to provide customers with the highest quality of on time bus service. Our mechanical department plays a huge part in the success of meeting the goals of our mission.
Experience/Education: 2 year degree in diesel mechanics and or 5 or more years’ experience in gas, diesel, and heavy equipment vehicles Supervisory experience
Abilities Desired: Good written and oral communication skills Broad understanding of all mechanical systems related to heavy duty transportation vehicles Ability to read, interpret and apply documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read schematics, and other mechanical and/or electrical diagrams Ability to read and write routine reports, forms, and other documentation or correspondence Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Ability to organize and perform work efficiently; strong attention to detail Ability to work well with labor in a Union environment Employment
Requirements: Ability to pass medical examination/agility test and Federal drug test (Drug free workplace) Must submit to a criminal background check Valid driver’s license with a CDL Class B Permit or license and full passenger endorsement High School Diploma or GED is required Must be able to work additional hours and varied days including weekends & holidays.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to work off shifts or flexible work schedules as needed. Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds. Open garage working environment exposure to heat, humidity, cold and dust.
Pay Range: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour

Bus Operator Positions

To Qualify:
· Valid NYS “Class D” driver’s license with good record, “Class A” or “Class B” License or Permit (with ability to pass road test), with full Passenger endorsement & Air Brakes .
· A minimum of 5 years “Class D”” auto driving experience.
· High School Diploma or GED REQUIRED
· Ability to pass 19A medical examination and Federal drug test
· Excellent Customer Service skills are a must
· Must be able to work additional hours and varied days including weekends & holidays. Flexibility is a must!!!
