The Artists 

Renate Tsuyako Rohlfing is a pianist and music psychologist recognized for her lyrical artistry and interdisciplinary work. A prize-winner at the Wigmore Hall and Stuttgart International Song Competitions, she has performed at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, and Amsterdam’s Muziekgebouw. Ms. Rohlfing has served as a resident pianist for the Lucerne, Ravinia, and Cincinnati May Festivals. She is an Associate Professor at Berklee College of Music and collaborative piano adjunct faculty at The Juilliard School. A native of Honolulu, Hawai‘i, Ms. Rohlfing is a graduate of The Juilliard School and New York University.

 

Aurora Mendez. Born and raised in the Bronx, NYC, she is a versatile violinist, educator, and advocate for innovation in classical music. Her orchestral engagements include performances with the New Jersey, New Haven, Vermont, and Harrisburg symphonies (USA), the Latin Orchestra of Europe (Frankfurt, Germany), as well as serving as guest concertmaster with City Lyric Opera (NYC, NY). She currently serves as guest concertmaster/adjunct violin faculty at Montclair State University’s Theater Department, violin faculty with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra’s Youth Orchestra, and is the Strings Teaching Artist in Residence at SOPAC. She holds a Performer’s Certificate and BM in Violin Performance from the Cali School of Music at MSU under the tutelage of Prof. Mary Ann Mumm (Met Opera Orchestra).

Experience the rich cultural tapestry of these regions brought to life through the dynamic interplay of violin and piano.
