Hi there!

We are happy to announce that we pushed out the second 0.10.x (unstable) AngularJS release: v0.10.1 inexorable-juggernaut.

Please note that the 0.10.x branch is considered unstable until it becomes 1.0. We'd like you to experiment with it and give us feedback.

This release contains one major feature that we've been working on for the past few weeks:

- Complete rewrite of the $location service to make it HTML5 history api compatible

If you feel brave, you can migrate your app to 0.10.x, but please be aware that we are still polishing the APIs. All breaking changes will be documented as we've done in the past.

You can find docs for 0.10.x branch here: http://docs-next.angularjs.org/.

cheers,
the AngularJS gang

How long before the stable release? I'm getting ready to jump to the
next stable upgrade and I'd wait for this one if not too long. Thanks
for the great work.

ng:thanks

Hi,
if your project is supposed to go live before New Year (this is, as
far as I know, the schedule for 1.0), I would suggest staying on 0.9.x
branch unless your project is small enough for you to cope with lots
of breaking changes which are to come in 0.10.x branch before it
becomes stable 1.0.

Regards,
Witold Szczerba

If I give you a date, it will be wrong anyway, so instead I'll tell you what we want sill want to accomplish before we release 1.0:

- verify that the new $location service is working well
- release $xhr/$resource rewrite ($xhr is mostly done, $resource is being worked on)
- finish the forms rewrite (almost done)
- upgrade to latest jQuery (done, needs more real world testing)
- fix the directive/widget apis (we have a design doc, but no code yet)
- create a concept of an application with ability to configure angular (we have thoughts, no code yet)

ng:thanks

:-)

0.10.x despite being labeled as unstable, is functional and possibly in a better shape than 0.9.x, we run our apps on it without any major issues, so it's really up to you if you want to follow along the 0.10.x development and frequently update your app or stay on stable 0.9.x branch (which receives only important cherry-picked commits, but no development) and do one big migration when 1.0 is released.

/i

Already moved from 9.16, made the appropriate changes and everything
works.

Thanks.
