you need only JavaScript knowledge :)
But TypeScript is so much more easier to write (also really easy to learn as its basically JavaScript on steroids)

Hi!

You do not need to know jQuery.

"But TypeScript is so much more easier" =>
Want to rephrase this to But with Javascript it is much harder to learn something about AngularJS 2.

After reading guidelines, tutorials, examples, than, I can say, yes, you definitely need to learn Typescript
or you will get different troubles by trying figure out, how to use AngularJS 2 with Javascript.
10 time less any information and examples for Typescript, examples in official tutorial are broken for Javascript.
At least in 2 of 4, which I have checked.

At the moment, you need definitely learn Typescript.
As, I describe the situation for now, the situation may/should/can change in future for Javascript.

Hi Sivaprabu,

You can use both typescript and javascript, you just need to define what you are going to use... though i m not much familier with angular js- 2 , I understood that , type scripts are for guys who are mostly uses c# or java, the advantage for typescript is that, syntax are much similar to c# or java.

Javascript users can also use angular js 2

See the link : in code developer has mentioned extension of file as "ts", you can use "js"

I read somewhere that, after compilation of ts, it gets converted into js

I thought the exact same thing initially when looking into Angular2, Seemed like a massive step to move to TypeScript/ES6 after developing in ES5.

After researching I can definitely say that Typescript is the current supported language in most tutorials etc so it will be easier to pick up than ES5.
However, While it seems like a daunting process it's not *too* different. It's essentially JS on steroids and has been a relatively smooth learning curve for myself.

The setup for a dev environment is a lot more work currently, however there are plenty of starter kits on github now.

It's not that hard especially if you have any experience in Actionscript 3, and even Java.

Usually TS is the first choice because it's an easy step from JS to TS and TS is much more developer friendly.

Angular2 with Dart is great to work with as well.
Dart provides lots of high quality tools and core libraries out of the box.
This saves investigating tons of dependency management tools, build tools, ...
Everything is working well together by default.

Hi Günter Zöchbaue,

But in community, forum and blogs mostly supported TypeScript, i seen lot for tutorial examples they are explaining with TS. Minimum of persons only used JavaScript. In future i think AngularJS2 fully depends on TS.

Angular2 itself is written in TS, therefore no surprise docs are currently mostly TS.
I just wanted to point out there is another option.
Google uses Dart with Angular2 internally.
