How do you take a variable defined in a directive and use it in a template imported through templateUrl? I don't want to assign the variable to the imported scope because I want to use the same directive multiple times in the same view.

I'm wondering the same thing as I want to create a directive which is reusable in a controller scope without polluting that scope.
